What is the Valerie Theatre Cultural Center?

Located in the heart of historic downtown Inverness on Courthouse Square, we are a not-for-profit organization committed to enriching, engaging, and entertaining through creative experiences. The theatre, which reopened 2015, showcases concerts, movies, and more to the residents of and visitors to the City of Inverness and Citrus County.

How do I find out what’s playing or coming soon?

This website is the best place for up-to-date information on upcoming events. If an event is taking place at the Valerie Theatre but is not listed on the site, it either means that it is not open to the public or is being ticketed by someone renting the theatre. You can also find plenty of updates on our Facebook page.

Do I need a reservation?

We recommend getting your tickets in advance, if possible. The Valerie Theatre is an intimate venue with 150 seats, so some performances fill up quickly. If tickets are available the night of the show, they are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and seating may be limited.

When is the box office open?

The box office is open one hour prior to show time. For questions or additional information please call (342)341-7850

Is there a fee when purchasing online?

On occasion there is a fee, but you can always avoid this fee by contacting the Box Office during our regular business hours at 352-341-7850 or in person.

How much are tickets?

Check show prices under the ‘Buy Tickets’ tab above or call the Box Office at 352-341-7850.

Where is the best place for parking?

There are free municipal parking lots located just off Courthouse Square.

What’s the difference between reserved seating and general admission?

Typically, our live season and select events are reserved seating. Once you’ve purchased reserved seating tickets, those specific seats are assigned to you. General admission seating is used for movies and certain special events. If you’ve purchased general admission tickets, we suggest arriving early for you to locate your desired seat. We cannot guarantee general admission seats together when it close to being sold out or sold out.

How do I get my tickets if I purchase them online?

When you purchase tickets online, you have two options: 1. E-Ticket/Print at home or 2. Will Call/Box office pickup. Choosing option 1 allows you to print your tickets at home and bypass the line at the box office. When you choose Option 2, you pick up your tickets at the box office window. Tickets are not mailed.

Where and what is Will Call?

Will Call is the place in each venue where you pick up tickets that you have ordered and paid for in advance. The Will Call window is located in the center of the Valerie Theatre entrance.

What is Valerie Theatre’s wait list policy?

If a show is sold out, we cannot guarantee seats to patrons wanting to purchase tickets. Generally the Valerie Theatre does not offer a wait list. Please call the box office for wait list information on the particular show.

What is your latecomer seating policy?

Latecomer seating is at the discretion of the house manager and is decided upon on a per show basis.

What should I wear to a performance?

We encourage you to wear whatever you feel comfortable in. Jeans and tennis shoes are perfectly acceptable, although some patrons prefer to dress more formally. When in doubt, business casual is always appropriate.

When do doors open?

The Lobby is open one hour before the show.

Can I bring in outside food and drink? Do you offer concessions?

As a non-profit organization, we kindly ask for no outside food or drink. We are able to keep our ticket prices low by offsetting our costs with concession sales. Please enjoy our selection of snacks and beverages available in the lobby.
